request block Sabine

As already mentioned, are the English instructions for Jane's request block here. Sabine has used the guidance of the Patchwork Germany - now I pack a few pictures of the work on my block in this entry, together with a summary of the manual.
It starts with cutting: A square and two rectangles of background fabric, a square of fabric and flowers for the flower center is a small square of contrasting color. Jane wants a green background fabric and a second Color (which occurs in nature so) as flower color, and a small square of this contrast.
The Patchwork there for three block sizes, the following dimensions (in inches!) To:
small: Background 7 "x7" square and 2 rectangles 3 "x5" / / floral fabric: 4.5 "x7" / / Flower Center: 1.5 " medium-square
: Background 9 "x9" square and 2 rectangles 3 "x7" / / Flower Fabric: 6.5 "x7" / / Flower Center: 2 "square in size
: Background 11" x11 "square and 2 rectangles 3,5" x8 "/ / floral fabric: 8.5" x8 "/ / Flower Center: 2" square

Step 1:
The two background-right corner of the floral fabric square sew this strip. cut into 4 approximately equal width strips, share the background square in the diagonal. Share a strip in the middle of the flower fabric.
After 1 Going to the sewing machine's looks like it. The 2nd Section passes through the 2nd Television, 3rd then through the horizontal position. The final section passes through the vertical, and since then the strips of fabric flowers with flowers sewn into the middle-square (in my case, the yellow flower center). Is really super fast and is pretty easy! Sabine has requested that the finished squares cut back NOT. Have fun sewing!

10 Card Frustration Rules

August meeting

Here's a small taste of what Elsbeth Nusser lamp has taught us in her course Sun Tina is a nearly finished textile book - is not that nice? All who are sad now, because they were not there at this rate ... we think about it, 2012 again to make a course with Elsbeth Nusser lamp. Were but an idea, right?

We had a super interesting demo of Aby Dolinger - a new member of the NĂ¼rtinger Quilt Group - Welcome! (By the way we have in August - if I counted correctly ... - gained four new members: Aby, Deb, P. and Sabine Herma)! Aby showed us how fast of 4 matching Fat Quarter is a beautiful quilt - in their example, a baby quilt.

Aby This shows a quilt on which she has long worked. And even longer they waited until they him so with her longarm machine could quilt as they wanted. The wait was worth it, the quilt is really nice!

Another new work, which we could admire. Top has sewn this beautiful Helga (the right hervorlinst behind her quilt). We have discussed a little about "how do I make the binding" ... We are very excited to see what will decide Helga ;-))

And this little beauty is the new desired block of Sabine B. The instructions for it's in English now - namely here . In German it's the earliest next week because the author is in fact on Thursday in Birmingham ;-))
Sabine B. definitely want to green as the background and two colors for the flower. Size: does not matter, but do not cut back, the block is to look after this (Sabine then cuts himself, the way it's like).

meeting July 2010 - Pojagi demonstration

At our last meeting in July Monika Pohl was a guest. And showed us "Pojagi" - a fascinating sewing technology from Korea. We were fascinated and we will take a course with Monica do to themselves to play with transparent fabrics. For that is the trick, so to speak: the use of lighter (= transparent) material than is usual in classic patchwork of seams will get a very different meaning in the design. The next two pictures, taken against the window, show this very clearly. Monica is excited by the possibilities of Pojagi absolute, and this enthusiasm is contagious! Many thanks to Monika, and we are looking forward to be able to learn some of your secrets!
